I get asked this a lot about waxing, as you imagine. Whether waxing an eyebrow, top lip, male chest or intimate area, everyone is worried about the discomfort. I never use the word pain, only discomfort. Pain visualises something negative, something that's never a nice thing. An experience should be comfortable or you will never do it again. Therefore an experience that has an element of discomfort means that, whilst its not great, the moment is tolerable and usually short lived and the outcome is good. So, is there discomfort in waxing, absolutely. Can I make that easier for you, you bet! Is there anything you can do to make it better for yourself, definitely. Firstly my salon was created to bring a better waxing service. Investment in better products, training and up to date knowledge makes for a comfortable service. Secondly, take the time to prepare for your appointment. Ensure your skin in the best it looks. Exfoliation is the key to a comfortable wax. Dry, irritated, congested skin does not make for happy waxing. Find a good exfoliating routine. Whether for the face or the body, exfoliation improves the quality and condition of the skin. It simulates the blood to feed the skin fresh nutrients, it removes surface debris e.g. dead skin, left over product, sweat, and it allows hair to grow naturally through the skin. The biggest cause of ingrown hair is the lack of an exfoliating routine. Finally, if you are worried about the discomfort of waxing, take 2 paracetamols an hour before your treatment appointment. This absolutely does work and takes the edge of even those with the lowest tolerance. You are in safe hands, we will ensure you get the best and most comfortable treatment possible. That's the ducky fuzz guarantee.
